General Printing Guidelines

The printing orientation is as provided in the files. The prints have been designed to be “3 wall perimeters” in wall thickness. Printed at a layer height of 0.2mm. They don’t need printing supports. Use the default 15% infill. Your printer will need to be able to bridge gaps of up to 30mm for some designs.

Everything has been designed with a tolerance of 0.25 mm and to be as close to 45 degrees as possible (sometimes 50 and 60 degrees).

Nozzle Size: Multiboard has been specifically designed to print with 0.2 mm layer height, using a 0.4 mm nozzle.

Material: For the majority of Multiboard videos, I’ve used a pretty standard Matte PLA. I’ve found Matte PLA to be stronger than regular PLA and I’d imagine PLA Plus to be stronger still, but keep in mind pricing.

PS - Some parts have different printing settings, make sure to check the description of each part before printing.

Multiboard Symbol Lexicon

  • Center: (Only for remixing parts) It’s placed on the top center point of 3D components.

  • Up: Indicates that the mounting orientation of a part should be with the symbol pointing upwards.

  • Alignment: When joining two parts, the square symbols should align.

  • Print Orientation: Indicates the correct printing orientation of a part. The arrow should be pointing down towards the print bed. Not all models will have this as we provide parts in their correct printing orientation.

  • Permanent: Very low tolerance.

  • Tight: Low tolerance.

  • Loose: High tolerance.
